After going on a crusade of deleting mountains of pedoshit, Captain Ahab saw that he had a problem: TV Tropes claimed to be "family-friendly" yet it hosted a whole bunch of creepy, perverted shit. This was getting him into a whole bunch of problems with Google, who told him that if he didn't do something about all the creepy, perverted shit on his website, they would pull their ads and TV Tropes would go down the shitter. Eddie, penny-pincher he was, decided to delete all the rape tropes. At least, he tried to, but he did it in a hilariously half-assed way. He wrote up an algorithm that deleted every article that had the word "rape" in the title. This means he missed pages like "All Men Are Rapists", and he deleted the page for "Rape of the Lock", a book that doesn't even have any rape in it. This mass deletion was covered in a feminist blog called The Mary Sue. After realizing he pissed off a whole bunch of feminists, Eddie put the pages back up.
The Mary Sue is quite mistaken when they say:

Tropers cannot engage in intelligent debates about these issues. They are mentally and emotionally incapable of having intelligent debates about these issues. These are the same people who masturbate to cartoon children and gloat about all of the fucked-up fetishes they have. I tried to inject some reason into that article's comment section, but a whole bunch of tropers invaded it and drowned out my voice. My point still stands, though. Tropers are not mature enough to have discussions about topics like this. After all, for your average troper, War And Peace is equal to My Little Pony. Do you really thing they would be able to have a serious and mature discussion of rape? I don't think so.
