Be forewarned: Slaegt's Demo is stupidly loud, so make sure you turn down your speakers before pushing play.
Obviously, the production is from the school of Ash Pool. It's rawer than a slab of freshly slaughtered meat and the distortion is cranked higher than the clouds. Of course, if you're like me, your ears will eventually get used to it. Then again, even with my volume turned low, it still hurts my ears to listen to it.
However, if you manage to navigate your way through the chaotic distortion, you'll find some great black metal. The guitars have a great deal of melody to them, the drums are vigorous and don't skip a beat, the bass can be heard quite well in places and is pretty well-structured, and the vocalist sounds like a fucking lunatic.
This was one insane album. I haven't heard anything this fucked up since Ythogtha, but this lunacy just makes me love them even more. I hope to hear more of their work in the future.
