Bandcamp Roundup Vol. 3

It just got really cold here in Kansas, which is strange because it's been really warm for a long time. To commemorate this change in the seasons, this week's Bandcamp Roundup is going to be an entirely black metal affair.

Buried

First up is a band simply called Buried. The name suits them well, as they play dark, soul-crushing blackened drone/doom that explores the inevitability of death. I haven't heard anything this foreboding since Nyogtha.

Nuwisha

Up next is an acoustic black metal band called Nuwisha. They hail from the ancient wilderness of Cascadia (essentially Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia) and they advocate for the destruction of the status quo and the return to man's primitive ways, a return to the natural world. Sure, the growls and rasps sound hilariously out of place in the midst of the acoustics, but they're skilled musicians nonetheless.

Miseria Visage

I've saved the best for last. They've made only one song so far, but I was blown away by it. The riffs are both well-constructed and catchy, the drums are pummeling, and it's topped off with some great symphonics. You should really keep your eyes on these guys.
