Engulfed was a really obscure death metal from England who only managed to produce two demos before breaking up. Castellated Architecture was the only one I could find.
The production is bad. It's not as bad as Terminal Death, but it's still really bad. The bass is extremely high in the mix, which means it drowns out everything else. Luckily, this problem clears out as the demo goes on. The drums are a bit sloppy in their delivery. He sort of has a problem with blast beats. However, his rhythms and fills are great. I believe the band had two vocalists, as the vocals switch between a standard growl and an extremely deep demonic growl. I guess they had a bit of Carcass in them. The distortion on the guitars is really crunchy, and the riffs exhibit both thrash metal and grindcore influences. The riffs are really well-written and sort of catchy.
If you can get past the awful production, then you'll find some great death metal on here.
