Fools! You face the mightiest death metal band in all of Mexico! You face me! Gilgamesh!
After doing some research, I discovered that Gilgamesh was Mexico's first – and so far only – all-female death metal band. The last time I ever listened to something that was all-female was when I listened to Thrash Queen, and they sucked more than Sanae at the Grand Dick Buffet. Luckily, Gilgamesh is much better. They're not as strong as other Mexican death metal bands, but they're still good.
The riffing and songwriting may not be that exciting or inventive, bu they have their charm. The main thing I noticed was that they had a great deal of doom metal influence to them. Due to the primitive production, I could barely hear the drums, but they were played spectacularly. What really amazed me were the vocals. Who knew a girl could growl that deep?
Shame they didn't release anything else. They could have really made a name for themselves.
