The Embowel – Life In Decapitated Head

The Embowel was one of Russia's first death metal bands. They formed in 1990 in Khabarovsk as a thrash metal band, but they later changed to death metal. They then recorded only one measly demo tape named Life In Decapitated Head before splitting up.

As was the case with Proteus, just because you were the first doesn't mean you're any good. First of all, the production is horrible. The bass is ridiculously high in the mix and it drowns out everything else. Even after you get past the awful production, the music isn't all that good. The drums are played sloppily, the guitarist plays as though he's drunk (they're from Russia, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did record this while drunk), and the growls sound pitifully weak.

This sucks. It's almost as bad as Intestinal Haemorrhage. I want my six minutes back.
