Bandcamp Roundup Vol. 8

It's one week before Christmas and everyone's afraid the world will end on Friday. I have some news for you, ladies and gentlemen. People have predicted the end of the world all the time, and they have been wrong. They have always been wrong. December 21 will come and go, the world will stay right where it is, and everyone will feel really stupid for believing in all that apocalyptic bullshit. Anyway, here's some more great music I found on Bandcamp.

Sages

I saw this almost a year ago yet I never got the chance to share it with anyone. Sages is a Cascadian black metal band that is one part majestic, another part grandiose, and another part trippy, what with their old school grooves and use of theramin. (Seriously, they use a theramin at one point in the song.)

Amiensus

Amiensus is a symphonic black metal band from America, and although they only have up one song from their latest album, Restoration, the music therein is amazing. The guitars are wondrous and atmospheric with a great solo near the end, and the clean vocals are brilliant and majestic. Here's to hoping they release more stuff soon.

Wardenclyffe

Ever since The Oatmeal had that fundraiser to buy out Wardenclyffe, there's been a great deal more interest in the works of Nikola Tesla. The latest incarnation of this interest is Wardenclyffe, a doom/death band from Sweden who named themselves after Tesla's old workshop. The riffs are colossal, the growls are beastly, the clean vocals are hypnotic, and overall, it's a totally amazing experience. I wonder what Tesla would think of them.
