Path of Sorrow
Path of Sorrow is a black metal band from Montenegro. From what I've seen, that country doesn't have much of a metal scene, so it's surprising to see these guys produce such great music. The riffs are nice and melodic and the symphonic elements give the music an extra bit of grandiosity. They only have one song up right now, but this is some great shit.
Orcustus
Orcustus was a Norwegian black metal band that released only two demos before disappearing. These demos are now available as name-your-price downloads. There's nothing fancy or pretentious here, just a raw, unfiltered black metal assault.
Chaos Ascending
Like Path of Sorrow, Chaos Ascending only has one song up right now, but it's pretty sweet. They combine blistering black metal with ominous symphonic elements. They sort of sound like Parnassus, but with better production values. Also, I love their logo.
Oak Pantheon
This track will come as quite a shock to fans of Oak Pantheon. Instead of the stump-gazing atmospheric black metal we're used to, this is straight up heavy metal played in tribute to Fire Emblem. They recorded this song just in time for the American release of Fire Emblem Awakening. Also, this song has inspired me to start playing the Fire Emblem series. Enjoy!
