Bandcamp Roundup Vol. 27

Lots of stuff's happening in my life. My family and I are renovating my room in order to get rid of my termite problem once and for all. This means I had to be moved out of my room. However, the room I moved into was really hot and my computer doesn't have very good cooling capabilities, which means I had to move it down into the entry way behind the piano next to the air vent. This also means I'm right next to the living room which means I can't play my music very loud, which will make reviewing stuff very difficult. This means I can't post to the blog as often as I would like.

In other news, you might be wondering why I hardly do Bandcamp Roundups nowadays. This is because I can't find any good metal on Bandcamp. I seriously can't find any good metal on Bandcamp. Everything I'm finding is cheaply-made, no effort bullshit made by complete idiots who can't play their instruments to save their lives. Despite a great deal of searching, I only managed to find ONE band that was worth my time, and it was a band that I wrote about before. The metal drought on Bandcamp is THAT bad.

Last Sacrament

You might remember these guys from the first Bandcamp Roundup I ever wrote. They've done quite a bit last time I checked on them. They've been hard at work on a full-length called Enantiodromia which will be released on June 30. They have three songs up, and they sound awesome. First of all, the production has an old school feel. (No surprise given that they're from Florida.) The drums are relentless and sound like a rumbling thunderstorm. The growls are extremely deep and remind me of Incantation. Finally, the guitar is absolutely amazing. They play lots of infectious riffs that have an old school vibe, and they play a few riffs that remind me of Nile. On top of all that, the solos are menacing and mind-boggling. Let me tell you, I love this "microtonal" death metal. I should write up a full review of this album once it comes out.
