Say, have you ever wondered what black metal would sound like if it was recorded in a cement mixer? No? Well, too bad, because today you're gonna be listening to Spirit In Eternal Pain. You're gonna be in eternal pain after you listen to this shit.
There's so much wrong with this demo. First of all, the production is horrible. The overpowering fuzzy distortion turns everything into an indecipherable mess. The band uses a drum machine, and all this drum machine does is play pathetically simple blast beats. Thanks to the horrible production, all I can hear are the cymbals.
Some of the riffs are rather competent, and if the demo had been produced right, they would have had this whole Branikald feeling going for them. Unfortunately, the production makes them sound like a muffled mess. The vocals are the worst part. He tried to perform rasps but he ended up sounding like a human mosquito. I'm just glad they sort of blend in with the music, because if they overpowered the other elements, I would have been really pissed.
The only good parts about this demo were the ambient bits. Unlike the black metal, I could hear them quite clearly. Those ambient bits sound quite nice. Not original, but still nice. Also, I like the logo and album cover. Other than that, this is a steaming pile of shit. They could have sounded like Branikald, but due to general incompetence, they completely fucked it up. Nice going, assholes.
