Gun Geo Marker: A New Tool in the Gun Grabber's Arsenal

This doesn't pertain to metal, but this issue is really important so I'm going to address it. There's this new app on Google's Play app store called the Gun Geo Marker which can be used by busybodies to mark homes and businesses of “suspected unsafe gun owners … to help others in the area learn about their geography of risk from gun accidents or violence.” In other words, it treats gun owners like sex offenders. The app also lets you put reasons as to why the gun owner is dangerous, and one of the reasons you can choose from is that they espouse "anti-government views". In other words, libertarians and anarchists. So not only can you be persecuted for owning a gun, you can also be persecuted for your political beliefs.

Not only is the app incredibly invasive, it's also dangerous. Not only can this app be used by criminals to know where they can steal guns, it will also help them know which homes are gun-free. No gun control advocate has ever agreed to put a sign in front of their house indicating that their home is gun-free, but this app does the exact same thing. It tells criminals that you don't have any means to defend yourself. Luckily for us, people have bombarded the app with almost 2500 one-star reviews, letting people know just how dangerous this app is.

Let's see how the app's creator, Brett Stalbaum, tries to justify it:

“The gun rights community has been busy making personal threats (we remain unconcerned), as well as spamming the Gun Geo Marker database with false markers,” he exclusively told FoxNews.com. “Though these fake markers are not useful for identifying dangerous guns and owners, they are certainly representative of the highly paranoid reaction we have come to expect from any attempt to improve gun safety in the United States.

I don't like how people have been making threats to the guy, but that doesn't automatically make him right. Also, notice the weasel words he's using. He calls people's concern over the app a "paranoid reaction". We're not paranoid, we just realize that this app will do far more harm than good.

Here's what he said next:

“This kind of reaction — automatically lining up on the wrong side of reasonable measures to improve the safe use and ownership of guns — aids and abets the crisis of child shooting deaths,” he said.

And here he plays the "protect the children" card, which has been used during every attempt to take away our civil liberties. I know it's tragic whenever a kid shoots himself with a gun, but statistically, that's an incredibly rare occurrence. More children die every year from drowning in the pool than they die from shooting themselves with a gun, yet you don't see anyone demanding that we ban swimming pools.

In order to keep himself from looking like a collaborator, Brett Stalbaum said this:

“As a gun owner myself, I want to see our rights preserved, and thwarting the will of 90 percent of the American people who want common sense, Constitutional measures to improve gun safety is mathematically unwise,” Stalbaum said.

The liberal's motto when it comes to guns is, "Guns for me but not for thee." Also, he's being deliberately disingenuous here. This app has nothing to do with "gun safety". This is all about creating a de facto gun registry so the government will know where to go when they finally decide to take everyone's gun away. The powers-that-be know that resistance to their tyranny is growing every day, so now they're trying to use apps like this to demonize us.
