Disinfected is a brutal death metal band from Indonesia that was formed by a former member of Rotten Corpse. I listened to Rotten Corpse before, and let me tell you, they sucked. They sucked hard. They sucked so hard I didn't even bother to review them. They sucked that hard. Let's hope Disinfected doesn't suck that hard.
Luckily for me, Disinfected do not suck. In fact, they're actually quite good. They sound like a mix of Dying Fetus and Deicide. The drums constantly offer up a plethora of vigorous blast beats and slow, pounding slam rhythms. They also play plenty of intricate fills that help to keep things interesting. Sure, the snare drums sounds like a hollow thud and the double bass sounds like a typewriter, but I don't care. This guy is a beast.
The vocals are heavily influenced by Deicide in that they utilize both a deep growl and a raspy scream. Both vocals styles are performed extremely well and sound deliciously evil. Best of all are the guitars. They play a lot of fast and violent tremolo riffs that throw in a touch of Cannibal Corpse and a touch of Dying Fetus. They also play plenty of aggressive chugging riffs as well as a few pinch harmonics. Best of all are the solos. They howl and scream with demonic fervor. They sound almost exactly like something the Hoffman brothers would play.
The only part of this album I had a major problem with were the audio clips. Sure, there are only a few on this album, but they still distract from the music. Personally, I wish there were no audio clips, but I guess I have to go with what's given to me. Other than that, this was a great brutal death metal album. I love the complex drums, the evil vocal performance, and the fantastic guitars. I also love their cover of Slayer's “South of Heaven”.
