Incarnator – Nordic Holocaust

Incarnator was an insanely obscure black metal band from Norway that was formed back in 1991, released two demos in 1992, then split up soon afterward. Most people have no idea this band exists, and even fewer have listened to them. Luckily, it recently found its way onto the internet and I managed to get my hands on it.

This demo is pure, unbridled Bathory worship. The production is fuzzy and lo-fi, which fits the music perfectly. The guitars play simple rhythms and the drums play simple mid-paced bass-snare patterns, but when it comes to Bathory worship, that's all you need. They also throw in some symphonic keyboards that add to the charm. The riffs are really catchy and the vocalist sounds almost exactly like Quorthon.

Normally, I'd throw a hissy fit should a band rip off another so blatantly, but Incarnator is awesome, so I'm going to give them a free pass. Nordic Holocaust is fucking sweet and you should all obtain it by any means necessary.
