Iniquitous Deeds is a new member of the Californian brutal death metal club, and they just released their first EP this year.
The music on this EP was clearly influenced by their compatriots from Condemned to Decrepit Birth. The guitars range from rapid chugging to a plethora of pinch harmonics all the way to elaborate technical displays. The solos are insane and show a bit of influence from both Morbid Angel and Behemoth. The drums are positively violent, constantly pounding away with hyperblast upon hyperblast and dropping crushing fills upon the masses. The double bass is triggered, but a whole bunch of brutal death metal bands trigger their bass nowadays, so I'll give these guys a free pass. The vocals are as deep as Condemned, but they also have the Condemned problem where the growls are buried in the mix. The musicianship more than makes up for it, though.
It would be interesting to hear what these guys will create in the future. Their musical skill is absolutely amazing.
