Kalibos was a black metal band from Germany that formed back in 1992 and later changed its name to Lugburz in 1997. They released two demos in 1995, but I only managed to find Frozen Souls of Mystical Winter.
This album is quite strange in that there are eleven tracks yet they total only fourteen minutes in length. That's the kind of thing you'd expect in grindcore, not black metal. Aside from this, there's nothing interesting about the album. It's just more shitty underground black metal from the 90s. I take it the guy doesn't have the energy to do proper blast beats, as they're slow, choppy, and end abruptly. They sound more like thrash metal blast beats.
I cane barely hear the guitars over the simple blast beats, but when they do show up, they sound haphazard and awkwardly played. Also, the riffs have more in common with death metal than with black metal. On top of all this, the croaks belted out by the lead singer make him sound like he's constipated.
Not much else to say. Kalibos played shitty black metal and now they no longer exist. End of story.
