I don't really know anything about these guys. All I know is that it's a new one-man black metal band from Canada and he just released his first EP, Preternatural Courtship. One-man black metal bands tend to suck. Will this be any different?
No, not really. The first big problem is the drum machine. It never plays anything more than simple blast beats and rhythms. Also, they're way too loud in the mix. Also, their robotic nature is way too obvious. Seriously, they're as bad as Mortician. The guitars are no better. All they can muster are mediocre riffs that have been played to death by countless black metal bands before him. The horse has been reduced to dust, sir. Quit beating it. Also, I think there was this one point where I thought the guy was playing djent riffs. Seriously?
Also, why do you have three songs with “Jungle Jams” in the title? When you call a song “Jungle Jams”, I expect some catchy jazz music like what you would hear in Donkey Kong Country, not sub-standard black metal played by a lousy Canadian who can't program a drum machine to save his life. The only good thing I can say about the music is that he doesn't try to sing. I bet you he'd probably sound like Gollum's retarded nephew.
Overall, Ceviche plays mediocre and unoriginal black metal and is not worth your time. The highest compliment I can afford this guy is that his music isn't as bad as most other black metal bands I've listened to. *cough* Me'ex *cough* Ceviche isn't atrocious by any means. It's just sub-standard, boring, and derivative as hell.
