D.C.D. - Demo

This band was really hard to google. There's a D.C.D. on Metal Archives but that's not the D.C.D. I'm looking for. Even after narrowing my search to a ridiculous degree, I couldn't find much information about these guys. All I could find out was that they're a black metal band from Russia. Also, they're just plain awful.

First of all, the drums are pathetically weak. They have no punch to them at all, and they never play anything more than simple blasts, double bass, and mid-paced rhythms. When I listen to black metal drums, I want to feel like my nuts are getting torn off by a polar bear. These drums have all the strength of a flat worm. A child could perform more powerful drum beats than these guys.

Then again, the production could be a major factor to the drums' lackluster presence. When I listen to black metal, the production needs to be tuned in a way that makes me feel like I'm trapped in a snowstorm. The production on this demo is more sterile than a CPU manufacturing facility. It's more sterile than a technical death metal album. There is not a single hint of reverb on this demo. The copious amounts of reverb is what makes black metal, well, black metal. Playing black metal with no reverb is like The Legend of Zelda without Link or Zelda.

The guitars are just as pathetic as the drums. They play a whole bunch of mediocre and unoriginal riffs and make absolutely no effort to stand out. The riffs are so boring and uninteresting, I bet you that if I replaced the riffs with white noise halfway through the demo, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The vocals consist of unintelligible growls that make no effort to stand out. They do nothing to enhance the rest of the music.

If I had known these guys would be so mediocre, I wouldn't have wasted so much time trying to find information about them. Don't bother listening to this. D.C.D. play weak and boring black metal and they deserve to stay in obscurity.
