Demolidor is a death metal band from Brazil that formed all the way back in 1988. They released three demos; their last was released in 1998. I was only able to find their first demo, and after listening to it, I don't want to listen to the others.
There's a lot wrong with this demo. First of all, there are major production issues. The first song is really loud and has major balancing issues, while the second song sounds much too quiet. The third song was produced like a grindcore song, with muffled vocals and harsher distortion on the guitars, then it goes bad to being quiet on the fourth song. I understand that they're from Brazil and don't have ready access to good production equipment, but can they at least take the time to make the production consistent instead of the schizophrenic mess it is now?
Of course, considering how bad the musicianship is, I wouldn't want to listen to it even if it did have good production. The drums mainly stick to simple rhythms and blast beats and he only performs fills when he feels like it. It's so dull and unexciting. The guitars are extremely simple and most of the riffs they play sound like they belong on a grindcore album instead of a death metal album. I guess he decided to play grindcore riffs because he doesn't have the skill to pull off death metal riffs. The vocals consist of your typical growls and screams and their performance is lackluster at best. They do nothing to invigorate me.
I heard they're still around, even though they haven't release anything in fifteen years. If they happen to discover this review, I have a message for them: Don't make any more music. You don't know how to play or record properly. In short, you suck. Sell off your equipment and do something more valuable with your time.
