ReverbNation Spotlight: Khargash

On a whim, I decided to look up black metal bands from Serbia on ReverbNation. I managed to strike gold.

First of all, the atmosphere is powerful and beautiful, which is something quite rare in black metal. It sort of reminds me of Screaming Savior. The drums utilize a great deal of double bass as well as a great deal of fills and other great feats of skill. The vocals consist of both a sick rasp and a deep growl, and although this might remind some people of Dimmu Borgir, I quite like it. Of course, my favorite part were the guitars. The riffs are fantastic and occasionally display beautiful melody, such as on the song "The Defiance Mephisto".

I heard this guy released a full-length called Pathway Through Illumination just last year. I'll definitely go check it out after listening to this. His riffs are fantastic and he has real skill when it comes to songwriting.
