There are two Deleteres. They're both from Quebec and they both play black metal. This one in particular formed in 2009 and released their first demo, Inopia et Morbo, in 2012. Let's listen to it, shall we?
The first song begins with the creepy chiming of bells that are eventually accompanied by incomprehensible chanting that sounds like a group of mental patients trying to summon Cthulhu. This later gives way to an awesome sounding organ performance that seems to have some sort of black metal distortion applied to it. This lasts for a little bit until the actual metal starts up.
As for the black metal itself, it sounds underwhelming at first, but it gets better as it goes on. The drums mainly stick to playing simple rhythms that feature really prominent cymbals, but they do play some blast beats on occasion. My favorite part of their performance would have to be on the song “Le Cantique des Vers”. It sounds like a waltz.
The vocals consist of a raspy croak that sounds utterly unintelligible to me because all the lyrics are in French. The performance isn't all that original, but it still gets the job done. As for the guitars, they sound colder than the Canadian winter. They play a lot of mid-paced riffs and have sort of a depressive black metal tone to them. It sounds a lot like this one other band I listened to a long time ago, but I can't remember it.
This was a pretty decent black metal demo. It might sound uninteresting at first, but it manages to pick up steam in no time. It's one of those demos where you just need to let it grow on you.
