Very little is known of Noise of Silence, other than they were a brutal death metal band from the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. Hey, that's also where Andrei Chikatilo came from! Anyway, the demo Anomalic Mutilation was the only thing they ever recorded before breaking up.
Though the production, songwriting, and drumming maybe awfully primitive, there's some good stuff to be had here. The bass is quite prominent in the mix, which seems to be a trait of a lot of Russian death metal bands. The riff have a touch of groove and have a grindcore feel to them. The solos are a bit hard to hear, but they rip and tear like a chainsaw and sort of remind me of Carcass. Finally, the vocalist sounds like he's gargling on a mixture of guts and sewage. They sort of remind me of Cenotaph back in their early days (Turkish Cenotaph, not the Mexican one).
Yeah, this demo may not be very good, but it has its charm.
