Witch In Her Tomb is a brand new black metal band from Illinois that released their first demo on Crippled Sound just last year. Don't let the blandness of the album cover fool you, for they play a brutally raw, extremely distorted, and insanely noisy form of black metal.
The production, as I said before, is as harsh and abrasive as jagged rocks, but the music buried beneath is utterly ravenous. The blast beats are fast and violent and are frequently broken up with more mid-paced rhythms in order to keep the music from getting tiresome. The guitars feel like a power sander, with riffs that will rip the flesh from your bones. However, there are also times when they'll let in small rays of melody before they go back to flaying you, which can best be seen on the second song. The screams have a certain madness to them and sort of remind me of Ash Pool.
Although this album ends in only eighteen minutes, the scars it will leave on your skin are permanent. Highly recommended for lovers of harsh, flesh-peeling black metal.
